Hanna’s Hedgehog report

A couple days ago Hanna wrote this report about African Pygmy Hedgehogs. Hope you enjoy!

African Pygmy Hedgehogs are prickly rodents.  They are about six inches long and they weigh one pound like a butter box.  These hedgehogs are cute and intelligent.  They can run 4.5 mph.  They can climb steep walls, fences, and trees.  They can also swim.  These hedgehogs are mammals. They have 36 to 40 teeth.  There are also hedge hogs in Europe and Asia.  The people in Europe are not allowed to keep native hedge hogs as pets but they feed them minced meat and meal worms.

These are cute critters! I wouldn’t mind having one for a pet as long as I had them in a good cage! Love, Grandma Kathie

run 4.5 miles per hour, hummm, not sure I could run that fast anymore, so keep those cute little critters caged up, and I can appreciate them. Love GramM

Great job on the report Hanna! They look to prickly to love, so I don’t think I would want one for a pet!
