Ladies and Gentlemen,
On April 14th the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Obama administration’s ruling declaring the Romeike family should be deported.
For those of you who don’t remember, the Romeike family came from Germany in 2008 after facing very severe persecution for deciding to homeschool their children. They were granted legal status as refugees. Then, in 2013 (after Obama won re-election) Attorney General of the United States Eric Holder ruled that they should be deported back to Germany. Read more of the story here.
Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has been helping the Romeikes through this whole journey. In a recent email update Michael Farris of HSLDA stated
“While we will continue to fight in the courts over the issue of whether our law requires the Administration to give this family asylum, there is no doubt of the ability of the Obama Administration to use its discretion to immediately grant this family permanent asylum. We urge the Administration to do so at once.”
If you have not already, sign the whitehouse.gov petition to ask exactly that. Or download these flyers I made to print out (double sided is best) and distribute:
And, most importantly, pray for this family during this difficult time!
